"The Final Cut" is the twelfth long player by Pink Floyd. Originally released on March 21, 1983, it is the last studio work with Roger Waters, who left the band in December 1985. At the same time, it is the only record on which keyboardist Richard Wright was not involved.

All twelve songs on "The Final Cut" were penned by Roger Waters. The bassist and singer dedicated the album to his father Eric Fletcher Waters. It is subtitled "A Requiem For The Post War Dream."

The album reached number six in the USA, in the UK and Germany it conquered number one in the charts.
